Overview

Personal photography work

When Iโ€™m not pushing pixels, Iโ€™m usually shooting. Much like my dad, who always had a camera strapped to his hand, you will usually find me creeping in corners trying not to be creepy, with my trusty Nikon F2 by my side. I first picked up a camera at about the age of 12 and never really put it down. Although I am not opposed to digital photography, I strictly shoot film (35mm and medium format mostly). I do minimal editing to my shots (a crop here, a straighten there) as I believe film should try to be preserved in its original form as much as possible. Photography is not only a way to escape the screen but to completely slow down. The care, timing and thought that goes into each shot allows me to step outside of myself and consider everything thatโ€™s happening around me. Itโ€™s a completely different medium, with different rules that doesnโ€™t have an โ€˜undoโ€™ button. When you miss a shot, you miss it for good. I enjoy observing people, noticing the otherwise unnoticeable and finding beauty in the mundane.

Sometimes I take commissions, but mostly, I just do it for fun.
